Indigenous People’s Day Special Programs

CISF is delighted to provide two special programs, one morning and one afternoon session, this Indigenous People’s Day, October 10th! Registration opens Friday, September 30th. Click below to learn more!

Survival Skills, Grades 3 – 7, Monday, Oct 10, 9 am – 12 pm $40

Whether you are planning for your next backyard adventure or backcountry expedition, come learn the basics of how to SURVIVE in the wild!!! Participants will learn how to build and start a fire without a match and cook over it! They will learn how to make and use tools, as well as how to identify and safely forage for food in the wild! Participants will develop an overall understanding and appreciation of what preparedness is needed for outdoor survival while building skills that will enhance their next adventure. (Children participating in both the morning and afternoon programs can stay from 12-1 for lunch and free play.)

Nature Art, Grades 3 – 7, Monday, Oct 10, 1 – 4 pm, $40

Nature’s beauty is everywhere! Come enjoy making art with what Mother Nature provides. Join Haley Barber & Fiona Christie to make art using materials in the natural environment. No pencils, no paper needed! Make paint using rocks, create mandalas using items found in nature.  (Children participating in both the morning and afternoon programs can stay from 12-1 for lunch and free play.)
