  • Home-School Program: Natural Science & Marine Engineering

    Price: $360 Per Child

    March 15 - April 19: This first session of our spring homeschool program will focus on Natural Science, Marine Engineering, and the Science of Sailing! This session will run from the week of March 15th through the week of April 19th. Every Tuesday students will learn about the natural world through Fort Getty, covering geology, animal adaptations and evolution, decomposers, biodiversity, and plant science. On Thursday's, students will be learning the science of sailing, and working on designing and building their own sailboat over the course of the 6 weeks! We will cover topics such as buoyancy, wind, weather, and how sails work. Students will use this knowledge while working as engineers to design, build, test, and improve their sailboat designs.

  • Home-School Program: Jr Nature Explorers, Ages 5 - 7

    Price: $270 Per Child

    March 16 - April 22: 5-7 year olds can continue to grow and learn about the natural world at Fort Getty through exploration, play, and hands-on activities! This is a six-week program running from March 16th - April 22nd, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30. Children will explore the natural world at Fort Getty while the first signs of spring start to emerge. They will learn about the natural and marine environments around them. There will also be plenty of art, imaginative play, building, climbing and exploration!

  • Nature Journaling, Monday's, 3:30 - 5pm, grades 1-4

    Price: $80 Per Child

    Over the course of six weeks, participants will learn and share all about the natural world. If your child is passionate about nature - trees, creatures, birds, insects, rocks, animals, then this is the perfect program for them! We will start our first class creating a nature journal. We will practice becoming nature detectives, by learning how to discover, identify, and research the different wonders in our own backyard. Each week we will learn about a certain topic, write in or add to our nature journals, and have an opportunity for everyone to share their nature stories and passions! This session will be in person at Fort Getty.

  • Eco-Club, Tuesday's, 3:30-5 pm, March 16-April 20, Middle School

    Price: $80 Per Child

    Eco-club will continue into the Spring. We are always happy to welcome any middle schoolers who are passionate about environmental issues and making change in our community! This session's projects will include final preparations for our Tree-Plenish event on April 24th, as well as creatively fundraising for endangered marine animals!   • Backyard Explorers, Grade 3, 2:40-4pm, March 16 - April 15

    Price: $50 Per Child

    March 16 - April 15. This popular after-school program will again be offered during the spring season. The students will explore, adventure and learn about the natural world. Children will be picked up from their classes and will explore the outdoor environment at school once a week for five weeks with Ms. Haley Barber. Session 1 will be for grades 3 (Tuesday's) and 4 (Thursday's) and run five weeks, from March 16 - April 15. There will be 12 spots will be available in each group. WHERE: OUTSIDE OF MELROSE SCHOOL, 2:40 - 4PM

  • Games at Getty, Grades 1-3, Friday's 3:30-4:45

    Price: $60 Per Child

    March 19- April 23rd: We have so much fun playing active games on our field at Ft. Getty, so we decided to make a program devoted to playing games! We will be leading a wide variety of fun, energetic, group games suited for children in 1st to 3rd grades. During inclement weather we will be having just as much fun under our new heated tent! All your child needs to bring is warm clothes, sneakers and a water bottle!

  • Eco-Crafts, Thursday's, 3:30-5 pm, Grades 5 - 8, March 18 - April 22

    Price: $80 Per Child

    March 18 - April 22: This new after school program will focus on creating art out of nature and materials that would otherwise be thrown away or recycled! We will make our own paper, create notebooks out of it, and much more! This program will be six weeks long, from March 18 - April 22. Cost: $80 Where: Fort Getty, CISF tent

  • Leadership Club, Wednesday's, Grades 7-8, 3:30-5 pm, March 17 - April 21

    Price: $80 Per Child

    March 17 - April 21: This program is perfect for those in grades 7 + 8 who want to embrace their leadership style. We will learn and build skills through fun, engaging team building activities, work through real life scenarios, and learn the power of leading by example. This will be great practice for students who want to build confidence before entering a new school or a new environment. Whether you think you're a great leader, still need some practice, or have no idea how, all are welcome! This program will be six weeks long, from March 17 - April 21.   • Intro to Leadership Club, Wednesday's, 3:30-5 pm, Grades 5-6, March 15 - April 19

We will learn about different leadership styles, and how to recognize and use personal strengths to discover how you are comfortable leading.
