  • LEADERSHIP PROGRAM, AGES 12-16

    Price: $375 Per Child

Campers will continue to participate in Jamestown Sea Adventure Camp. However, those in the Leadership Program will be int their own pod. Approximately 40% of their camp week will be spent participating in leadership training, and 60% will be "typical" Sea Adventure Camp. Additionally, Leadership Program participants will have a slightly longer day, ending closer to 4:15 or 4:30.

At the conclusion of each Leadership Program week, students will receive a certificate of completion. There is also a badge system in the fields of sailing, marine science, and environmentalism. Leadership students will work towards a badge during the week. It will not be possible for leadership students to complete all badges during a single week. We are hopeful that a student can complete a badge during the week, but it is not a guarantee. Participants will get something out of each week should they choose to attend for multiple weeks. The progress of each participant will be tracked so that anyone repeating will be appropriately challenged.

To quote Vince Lombardi, CISF strongly believes that “leaders are made, not born”. The skills that will be taught are life leadership skills. Our goal is not to create the next group of Sea Adventure Camp Instructors, but to empower students with skills that will enable them to make better decisions, and to lead by understanding what it means to be a leader and how to lead using the leadership style that best suits him/her/they.

8-10 students will be a part of each Leadership Program.
