Hobie Wave sailboats are available to rent at Ft. Getty upon request after 4 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and on the weekends. All rentals are based on CISF staff availability. What does that mean? Email, call or text Meg (24 hours in advance notice required) and she will help you schedule your rental.
• Monday-Friday, after 4 PM (no availability on Wednesdays at any time)
• Saturday + Sunday
$55/hour/boat
• Four people per boat maximum.
• You must be 18 years of age to rent. If you are not, you must have a parent or adult go with you.
• Life jackets must be worn at all times when renting and can be supplied.
• No rentals are allowed when the wind is at, or over, 18 knots.
• Prior, significant first-hand sailing experience and knowledge is required to rent a boat.
• Upon renting, CISF staff will let you know the physical limits of where you can/cannot sail, i.e. you may not sail around Beavertail.
• There are a significant number of aquaculture farms in the area. Please ask the CISF staff member about these locations.
• You are required to stay out of shipping lanes when sailing. If you must cross a lane, do so swiftly and at the most direct angle.
• For safety, every boat will be supplied with a VHF radio to contact CISF staff and a paddle.
